And no, the original screenshot is not perfectly fine. It's small and pixelated, and generally low quality. And I'm not justifying anything. There is nothing to "justify", because no one needs to justify things that are alright
I hide comments and block users because I can. I don't like nasty, insulting comments on my page. Just like everyone else If there would have been no need for such an option, dA admins wouldn't have added them in the first place.
